Lenovo Ideapad 500-15ISK - Battery low quality

I bought this laptop about 6 months ago because of its specifications, good price and I because Lenovo is a trusted brand.

Now I have a serious problem with the battery. It only runs 4 or 5 minutes without AC power and then the battery is completely empty.

I bought this notebook in New York (B&H Photo Store), but I'm from Brazil, and here we don't have this battery to buy and replace. I don't use a lot the notebook, maybe 1 time per week.

I have another notebook from DELL, and it is 4 years old, I use it every day to work, and I can use it without AC power about 2 hours (original battery, never replaced before).

I hope Lenovo can help me.

Thanks.

Leandro.

Re: Lenovo Ideapad 500-15ISK - Battery low quality

Hi there, Leandro        -

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

You can start by flushing out all static, remove AC adaptor and hold down power button for about 20 seconds.

Also,

- Might be chip that handles how the battery gets charge/discharge and checks the charge level of each battery cell (both are controlled by a firmware) is malfunctioning.

Update us how it goes.

Re: Lenovo Ideapad 500-15ISK - Battery low quality

This could be a faulty battery. This usually happens if the battery is not communicating with the system properly.

I would recommend contacting Lenovo service centres and applying the normal phone techniques to get it replaced promptly or assist you further.
