I am looking to upgrade the RAM on my Lenovo Ideapad 510-15IKB Laptop of model type - 80SV00FEIH. It currently has 8 GB DDR4 RAM and I was wondering what the max capacity is? Also, how many slots are available and among them, are any free? And to upgrade RAM, by opening the back of the laptop, will my warranty be voided?
Sorry if this has already been answered.

Welcome to the Community Forums.
Product specifications shows:
12GB max / PC4-17000 2133MHz DDR4,
4GB memory soldered to systemboard, one 260-pin SO-DIMM socket
Similar to the RAM specs from the hardware manual (page 26):
DDR4-2133 MHz, SODIMM × 1, on board × 1 (max 8 GB)
The single available bank (page 37) which you currently have 4GB DDR4 2400 SoDIMM MEMORY 01AG707, can be upgraded with 8GB RAM (+4GB soldered onboard) for a maximum of 12 GB as the same with 80SV00XJUS machines.
In general upgrade do not void the warranty as long as no parts are damaged during the upgrade.

Hope this help answer your query.

One of the 8GB that was used in 80SV00XJUS : part number 01AG710 8GB DDR4 2400 SoDIMM
Standard memory specification (page26):
DDR4-2133 MHz, SODIMM × 1, on board × 1 (max 8GB)
12GB max / PC4-17000 2133MHz DDR4
It does satisfy the spec requirement but I would suggest that you chat with Crucial about "known to work" on model 80SV Ideapad 510-15IKB. Likewise check on return options when purchasing from other resellers.

I own laptop lenovo ideapad 510-15ikb 80sv00l5. I read that the max ram upgrade i can do to my laptop is up to 16GB(current is 6GB). Is that correct?? If yes which type of ram i could use to upgrade it??

The maximum RAM you can install is 20 GB, 4 GB solidarad in the MB and 4 BG in the removable hub. There are 16 GB RAM upgrages (one piece).
Many manufecturer sell it, I purchased my 16 GB from crucial and its working excellent. Also, they have scanner to scan your laptop and suggests what are the upgrades available.
upgrading RAM or SSD doesnt void the warranty, I beleive, because both are removable.
