I'm planning for a RAM upgrade now.
Now I have 8GB in two slots.
4GB is soldered.
Can I replace the other 4GB with 16GB DDR4 PC4-17000 2133MHz 260-pin SODIMM.
If I can only replace it with 8GB of same spec above, what is the reason for it technically.
Awaiting a technical response.

Welcome to the Community Forums.
Similarly discussed here ,it is advised to upgrade the current 4GB to an 8GB and not the 16GB.
Product specification shows :
12GB max / PC4-17000 2133MHz DDR4, 4GB memory soldered to systemboard, one 260-pin SO-DIMM socket.
OEM sets max capacity for the single available slot up to 8GB as shown in the hardware manual page 26 DDR4-2133 MHz, SODIMM × 1, on board × 1 (max 8 GB). The machine is certified under this setting so going beyond the recommendation is users risk in terms of functionality and compatibility (aside from the cost).
I hope this helps answer your query.
