Thank you for the reply. So if one was not soldered in could I possibly put in 20gb?

Re: Lenovo Ideapad 510-15ISK ram upgrade

No, you cannot upgrade to 20GB. however you have feasibility to upgeade upto 12GB max / PC4-17000 2133MHz DDR4,

4GB memory soldered to system board, one 260-pin SO-DIMM socket.

Update us how it goes.

Re: Lenovo Ideapad 510-15ISK ram upgrade

Hi mate, they dont know what they are on about just go buy a single 16gb stick and swap them outmake sure it's laptop memory 2133mhz ddr4, theoretically if they had 512gb sticks they would work as well as it's an x64 architecture and win10 supports up to 512gb of ram so you wont have any dramas. Just make sure your windows installed is x64.

Re: Lenovo Ideapad 510-15ISK ram upgrade

Hi everyone,

I have this model Lenovo Ideapad 500s 14ISK 80Q3.

The problem is that I want to upgrade the ram of my laptop from 8GB to 16 GB while laptop's specifications give that the maximum is 8GB because it has only 1 sodimm slot. However, the cpu of the computer, which is the 2.5GHz 6th Generation Intel Core i7-6500U, according to intel's site can support 32 GB of ddr3. So, I have found a specific model of ram Crucial 16GB DDR3L-1600 SODIMM which is 16GB and 1 sodimm but because it is quiet expensive I want to be sure in order to buy it. I see no reason why not doing this upgrade... Has anyone tried this before? Do I miss something concerning my laptop specifications?

Re: Lenovo Ideapad 510-15ISK ram upgrade

Hi Greg,

Did you upgarde your ram with a single 16GB stick?

I bought 32 Gigs of ram and have now discovered I can't use it.

Cheers
