Lenovo Ideapad 700 Restarts again when set to hibernate

I got the lenovo ideapad 700 yesterday and I set in power options ( when I press power button----> Hibernate for both power saving and plugged in modes) however yesterday when I pressed the power button it went into hibernation and automatically was awakened/started again for me to press the power button again for it to finally go into hibernation mode and stay there.

Why does this peculiar situation take place? Any suggestions on how to rectify it?

Hi aragorn13371 and welcome to the community,

This could be due to a feature called "Wake on Magic Packet" which basically turns the machine on when it detects a signal coming from internet router.

Please follow the steps below to disable this feature.

1.Go into Control Panel
2.Click "Network & Internet" then "Network & Sharing Centre"
3.On the left hand side, click "Change adaptor settings"
4.Right click your network adaptor and select "Properties"
5.Click "Configure" and select the "Advanced" tab
6.Scroll down the list and find "Wake on Magic Packet"
7.Click "Wake on Magic Packed" than change the value to "Disabled" using the drop down box
8.Scroll down the list and find "Wake on Pattern Match"
9.Click "Wake on Pattern Match" than change the value to "Disabled" using the drop down box

Hope this help you and let us know how you get on
