My fingerprint scanner worked when I got the laptop November 2017 and then all of a sudden it stopped working.
I thought it might have been an update for Windows or problems with the Lenovo Drivers.
It showed up on and off in the Device Manager area but always with the Error Code 10 when it did show up.
Most if the time it wasnt even on the list.
I have done all the steps ive read from unistalling and reinstalling drivers, updating bios, clearing TPM on both windows and bios, Windows In-Place Upgrade,etc.... NOTHINGhas worked.
Spoke to Lenovo Live Help
Nothing worked they told me to contact Microsoft.

Nothing worked. They could not get it fixed.
Now after a BIOS update that Lenovo suggested it showed up again but now says:
Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)
To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer.
Then it disappeard again from the Device Manager List!
After trying all this....is this what I think it is??
Hardware malfunction and I will need to send it back to Lenovo for replacement??
Wanted to hear all your thoughts!
