Lenovo Ideapad flex 14 touchscreen not working

Hi everyone,

The touchscreen of my idepad flex 14 stopped to work suddenly. I have upgraded to Windows 10 recently and  didn't have any problem but now the defect came up.

I have checked the device manager and the HID compliant touch screen driver is there (Version from 2006) and seems to be ok. I have tried to upgrade the driver but Windows says that is the latest version.

Is there a driver from Lenovo for the touchscreen device? I really would appreciate any help.

Thanks,

Mike

Re: Lenovo Ideapad flex 14 touchscreen not working

Welcome to the Forums Mle.

1.Press Windows + X
2. Select Device Manager.
3. Find the Touch screen driver under Mice and Other Pointing Devices > USB Touchscreen Controller (A111).  You're going to uninstall this and check the box that says "Delete the driver software for this device".
4. Restart your computer.
5. Re-open the Device Manager, and confirm that the Touchscreen is now listed under Human Interface Devices. Your issue should be resolved!

Update us how it goes.

Re: Lenovo Ideapad flex 14 touchscreen not working

Hi all.

Same problem with touch screen not working all the time. Tried every thing suggested here and on google with no luck.

Touch screen seems to decide for itself when its going to work usually a couple of mlns after startup then waits untill I think its ok then it switches off again. Looked at the drivers for touch screen and they are dated June 2006. Which I have been told by two separate sets of techies were written for windows 7 one even offered to load 7 for me.

Has anyone found new drivers?

I went back to factory reset, which was windows 8.1 but that did not make any difference.

While I have been typing touch screen gone again.

Seems like two options  new computer or windows 7

As my computer was only bought in2013 seems a bit expensive.

Any help would be much welcome. Has anyone been able to talk to Lenovo

Bob

Re: Lenovo Ideapad flex 14 touchscreen not working

Dear Shashi,

Not too long after upgrading to Windows 10, I also began having the problem that MANY Ideapad Flex 14 users report-my touchscreen stopped working, then later began to work, and now no longer works after a recent Windows update. It seems to me that it is obviously about compatability with Windows 10.

Currently, I show NO DRIVER for the touchscreen under "Mice and Other Pointing Devices," in my Device Manager, and cannot find one anywhere else. Restarting does not change this.

What other steps can be taken to resolve this issue?

Re: Lenovo Ideapad flex 14 touchscreen not working

Mle, my problem was similar with the difference the driver I had to uninstall was under "Universal Serial Bus controllers">USB-something and had a conflict.

After uninstalling it and restarting the computer the Touchscreen driver appeared under "Human Interface Devices"

I was able to fix the touchscreen problem by going to the device manager and rolling back to the previous touchscreen driver.

Update us how it goes.

Re: Lenovo Ideapad flex 14 touchscreen not working

I agree with Truedad. The problem is related to the Windows 10 updates and none of these tricks are working. Do you work for Lenovo Shashi? Please for the love of God tell them to create a new touch screen driver for Flex 14 that is compatible with Windows 10. This is so frustrating.

Re: Lenovo Ideapad flex 14 touchscreen not working

I share the same behavior as Truedad; I don't have any drivers listed for touchscreen under "Mice and Other Pointing Devices"; has Lenovo said something about this issue? One of the selling points for this laptop was the touchscreen and now it doesn't work?

What a ripoff!

Re: Lenovo Ideapad flex 14 touchscreen not working

Thank you very much for the information provided by you; to me if it helped me a lot. In the device manager, the touch screen was located in the "Mouse and Other Pointing Devices" section, but it had another version. When I uninstalled it and restarted my computer, when I turned on my computer, the first thing I did was click on the screen to see if it worked or not. By miracle if it worked. Then, I reopened Device Manager to know where the Touch Screen controllers were located, and I see that another section was created called "User Interface Devices (HID)", and fortunately, I expanded its settings and now You could see the touch screen controllers.

Once again, I appreciate the information you provided.
