Lenovo Recovery Media and OneKey

Hello guys.

I'll restore my system using a factory recovery media (Lenovo USB Recovery Creator - Lenovo Digital Download Tool), but someone knows if it restore OneKey features, or it's only Windows?

Thanks.

Re: Lenovo Recovery Media and OneKey

Hi JoaoMGabaldi

Welcome to the Community Forums.

It would help if we have your model and better if you can provide the machine number from the sticker or from the parts look up page here to be specific.

You can also get the user guide here on the support website to get information about One Key Recovery if available for your machine. While the machine is powered off, using the Novo button to turn it on would get the Novo Menu for System Recovery. One Key Recovery from initial back up to perform a full factory reset to model with the hidden factory image.

Update us soon as convenient.

Regards

Re: Lenovo Recovery Media and OneKey

I have an Ideapad 310 15isk, it had OneKey but when I reinstalled Windows, I delete all partitions, so my question is: Lenovo Recovery Media will reinstall OneKey or just Windows itself?

Re: Lenovo Recovery Media and OneKey

Hi JoaoMGabaldi,

Greetings.

Lenovo Recovery Media will just re install only Windows operating system along with its drivers and certain OEM applications.

Hidden partition of the OKR features can only be restored in the factory where they have the imager software (OEM proprietorship).

As long as you have your Windows installer, it won't be any problem as other have also done to utilize bigger capacity storage.

Regards

Re: Lenovo Recovery Media and OneKey

It installs everything as if it were out of box new state. So it creates new partitions for a restore with a internal partition One Key provision. Some people like to use the Microsoft Media Creation tool which installs a much smaller restore partition and elimnates the Lenovo restore process. If you go back to a Lenovo setup, then you do what you did by downloading the USB tool from Lenovo and the image. Myself, I do not like the Lenovo option after a while because a restore places your PC back to out of box and many times this means out of date Windows, installs all the apps and trialware and Lenovo apps. Myself, I like a clean install type of install. That's just personal preference, Windows is the same no matter if you use the Lenovo option One Key or use a Microsoft Creation tool.
