I have a new Lenovo ideapad 120s which came with Windows 10. My daughter got a popup for a bios update and clicked without knowing what it was. After the bios update the screen is dark after reboot so I suspect the computer is now bricked.
I found a tutorial for resetting the bios by disconnecting the battery, but that didn't work.
I was wondering if this model has a way of overwriting the bios via usb (I've seen descriptions of such a solution for other Lenovo models)?
Full name / model:
Lenovo ideapad 120S-14IAP
Model name: 81A5

I had the same issues & here's the alternate to fix it...
before we start, make sure that your device already completely shutdown & plugged out of charger.
here we go :
- pres the novo/reset button on the right side of the device.
- turn device on
- start windows normally
- click search on the taskbar & type lid
- the lid menu will appear, open it, then enable the fast startup...
-click ok & then restart.
personally, I hate the fast startup method, but I perforce to used it for this issue...
