Re: Lenovo ideapad 300 battery draining

Hi there, Piers –

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today

Did you try calibrating the battery?

Also, you can also start by flushing out all static, remove battery and AC adaptor and hold down power button for about 20 seconds.

Update us how it goes.

Hi Shashi

thanks so much. Can you tell me how I callibrate the battery, flush out staic and remove the battery? I know these probably seem really basic questions but I am new to laptops..as I am sure you've guessed! Piers

Re: Lenovo ideapad 300 battery draining

Please follow the below steps to remove static energy from system:

  1. Unplug AC adapter (remove from notebook).
  2. Remove main battery
  3. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds (power drain)
  4. Replace main battery
  5. Replace AC adapter

Click here for hardware maintenance manual for better understanding.

For battery calibration:

Follow the instructions exactly and set it aside for about 4 hours just to be on the safe side. It worked very well on my Yoga 3 Pro.
