Hi, i recently tried to backup a corrupt flash drive using Testdisk, but apparently took a wrong turn and did something to the hard drive and now it stuck in checking media. I've tried booting it using legacy, but it says "exiting pxe rom" and " no boot able device -- insert boot disk and press any key". But, the wired thing is that when I entered BIOS, it detected a hard drive.
Any ideas how to fix this issue? Any help would be welcome, thanks in advance.

Hi x1del8 ,
Welcome to the Community Forums.
In addition, you can start by accessing the BIOS again and go to the exit tab to load default then enable OS optimization. Then save and exit and check if booting is possible.
There is a possibility of corrupted boot files from Windows so you may need to check on your warranty to call in technical support for intervention. Refreshing the image may endanger your files so doing a back up may be needed.
Update us how things go.

Thank you TheEswar and spidey101 for answering. I've tried loading the default settings and enabled os optimized default, but it just reverts back to checking media. Is there any other option beside reinstalling the os? Thanks.

Hi x1del8 ,
You can use a recovery media or Windows installer to boot from and start repair but if your priority is the data on your drive then I would rather advise to manually remove the drive and slave it on an external harddrive enclosure to backup.
You can also try booting from a live rescue usb image (as example here) and do your backup.
