Lenovo ideapad 700 wont turn on! Nothing works!!

Hello,

After 4 and a half months of not being able to use my laptop, I'm getting very frustrated about my brand new lenovo laptop.

I bought my lenovo ideapad 700 in Germany in August (240V). I left in September for a year abroad in Japan and used my laptop on the first few days until the battery went down. After that I tried to turn the laptop back on again but nothing worked: no lights, no reaction, nothing. I was using an adapter to conevert the voltage of Germany to japan's voltage (100V). I tried with different chargers, adapters - I tried everything. I even went to a computer store here in japan but even the guy in the computer store did not know what was the problem.

I also tried to unplug the battery (from the motherboard, I didn't actually screw it out) and held the power button for at least 30 seconds and tried to turn it on again - still nothing. I tried everything I could think of and with everyday, my frustration and disappointment in lenovo gets bigger.

Please, I just want to use my laptop, help me..

Desperate regards,

Robin

Re: Lenovo ideapad 700 wont turn on! Nothing works!!

Hi there, Robin           -

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

If the no power LED lights are on then it indicates that the laptop is not getting power from the AC adapter. Most likely there is wrong with the adapter but just in case test it with a voltmeter to make sure the output voltage is correct.

It is possible the laptop appears to be dead because the AC adapter is bad (and the battery is discharged). If you know that the AC adapter is working properly and it outputs correct voltage but the laptop is still dead, most likely you have a power issue on the motherboard (or power board on some laptops) and it has to be replaced.

If you have to replace the AC adapter, make sure you use a correct one. The output voltage must be exactly the same as on the original adapter.

I would recommend contacting Lenovo service centres and applying the normal phone techniques to get it replaced promptly.
