Re: Lenovo ideapad 720S-15IKB

Thanks for the update. I updated the BIOS from 6TCN24WW to 6TCN29WW but did not see any changes. I will update to the newest BIOS and confirm the speed change. Appreciate everyone's input on this forum.

2º question: Anyone have thoughts on which SO-DIMM RAM to purchase? I'm trying to upgrade to the 32gb RAM.

Re: Lenovo ideapad 720S-15IKB

Hi DNA_Lor,

You are very welcome!

I purchased this memory for my S720-15IKB

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01K4ACOQI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I was going to go with 32GB however way too rich for my blood at the time. These sodimm modules have heat spreaders on them but do fit in the memory slots.

The link above will bring you to the support page and you can download the BIOS exe file there. Note, there is a new Intel Chip Management firmware update so you may want to look into that too.

Re: Lenovo ideapad 720S-15IKB

My apologies for jumping the gun earlier. I did more configuring and RAID is working properly with new bios!

*** Update - backed up what I wanted to save and deleted the drives and now I can setup Raid Array

Re: Lenovo ideapad 720S-15IKB

Hello JaeyunLee,

Is that speed from the 2nd NVMe Port? If so what brand of NVMe drive do you have?

I have two Samsung OEM PM961's installed in each slot.

Thanks,

Scott
