Hello I am trying to get my l340 connected to 2 monitors I already tried getting a usb c adaptor and found out the l340 lacks the correct usbc to allow monitor connection its not thunderport or whatever you call it...ok that sucks and there are no other ports but a usb3 so I said fine...let me get a usb3 to hdmi adaptor.
I bought one now it doesent work either. I am about at my wits end with the engineering and lack of ports of this laptop does anyone know of any way i can connect 2 monitors I paid a pretty penny for this laptop and somehow I feel like going back to my 4 year old lenovo.
similar to adaptor that I bought https://www.amazon.com/Plugable-Graphics-Multiple-Monitors-2560x1440/dp/B01C6HBJOA/ref=sr_1_11?keywo...

Hello and thanks for the reply. I have read some reviews of this splitter saying it only mirrors the same screen, it does not extend. Do you have any idea if these splitters can extend screens or they just mirror?
12-03-2019 11:30 AM
It depends on how you set up the display, if it's for mirroring or Extend.
You can select form
: PC screen only - The second screen is ignored and only the main display is used.
: Duplicate - The main display is mirrored on the second screen.
: Extend -The main display is extended across the two screens and allows you to have
a desktop that spans two screens or to use Metro on one screen & the desktop on the other.
: Second screen only - The main display will be disabled and only the second screen is used as your new main display.
As shown in this Photo.
Hope this will address your query.

Just googled like 50 answers on this. It does not depend how you set your display, hdmi splitters cannot extend screens they can only duplicate screens. This information is incorrect...

Lenovo Community Forums has a similar post how to duplicate the screen,
How can I duplicate my screen to an external monitor and get a 1920 x 1080 resolution?
Regardless of the unit or model of the Laptop, it supposed to work.

That post has nothing to do with my issue, thats a simple question of how to duplicate a screen to a 1920 monitor. My issue is of extending 2 monitors to the sides of a laptop. Your advice is for someone that doesent know the basics of pushing the extend button for their extra monitor. I dont think you understood the question, you may be a chatbot.
