I purchased a Ideapad 710s about 9 months ago. I haven't used the USB ports very much in this time (maybe once a fortnight max). I tried to copy some photos from my phone last week and it wouldn't recognise it, previously it did. I got another phone and tried to send some files to it and the connection would continue to drop out (could tell because of the volume being on).
I thought it was my phone wire or the phone, but it worked perfectly fine with another Lenovo laptop I have.
How can I fix this?
My touch pad has been acting up recently too, been very hard to use the gestures - 4 finger swipe down and to the side.
Thanks so much!

Thanks for using the Lenovo forums.
Sounds it like it may not be nothing more than some built up static on the unit, I had a similar situation with a unit of mine a while ago, I`d recommend you attempt to perform a static discharge and see if that is able to help your out at all.
Try a static discharge for this, it may help to resolve the issue or at least get rid of any built up static on the motherboard.
(If the battery is internal, please just skip the remove/replace battery steps.)
1. Turn the unit off
2. Remove the battery and the Mains adapter
3. Press and hold the front power button for 30 seconds
4. Replace the battery and the Mains adapter
5. Turn the unit on as normal
You can also attempt to update your drivers, usb(if available), and chipset drivers; you can find these at the support page:
Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.
