Hi, (Sorry about my english. It is not my first language)
I just bought online the Ideapad 700 with i7 and 1TB. I want to put the SSD as soon it arrives because my old laptop is broken and I need it urgently
I have to say that my knowledge in this area is almost nothing. After I read all the post in this topic twice I still have some questions so I hope you can help me.
-I am confused with so many terms like NVME,2280,PCIE,SATA...and I need to know if this one will work properly without some issues I read about the 950 pro:
"Samsung SM961 Polaris 256GB M.2-2280 PCI-E 3.0 X 4 nvme SSD"
-Also I want to know if only the Samsung brand would work in our laptops because for the same price as the Samsung there are others with double capacity like for example "WD Blue SSD M.2 2280 500GB" (Or this one much cheaper Crucial MX300 275GB M.2 Type 2280) that seem to be SATA and not PCIE but as I read here I think it would work.
Thank you in advance.

Hey idealmanu, tomvth, Luang, akislb99!
Have you noticed any changes in battery life? According to this review, SM961 consumes more power than 950 PRO. So I am deciding, should I pay more for 950 PRO. Also, have you faced with additional overheating?

Mine still works fine. I have not realized any major changes in battery life. The SSD produces some additional heat, so the fan has to work a little bit more, but it is still OK. It was a good choice.
