New Ideapad 300-171SK, stuck in "Diagnosing your PC" loop

This laptop is fresh out of the box today.

 

The hardware, including power supply and screen, appears to be working fine, but so far I have not been able to get to the desktop by any route. I tried to set up Windows 10 (which comes pre-installed) with most of the Microsoft spyware turned off instead of using the Quick Setup, which was probably a mistake... I went through the various screens for settings, but after all of that it choked after the Lenovo logo appeared onscreen, continuing in a loop until Windows failed to load. I have tried all the various reset options, which take me to a screen with the Lenovo logo and "Diagnosing your PC" at the bottom.

 

Any ideas on how to proceed?

the quickest and easiest way to get this working is to One Key Recovery your machine and then test it before any updates have been applied.
