I had the same problem for about 7 months. I contacted customer support later made clean install of windows but it didn't help at all.

The solution worked for me:

1. Uninstall Microsoft one drive.

2. Perform disk cleanup.

Now my laptop works fine

Interesting!

Anyone still suffering who could try this - but  could the poster please elaborate on what cleaning up was done.

I presume that you mean the standard one available from right-clicking on the C: drive, choosing Properties and selecting Disk Clean-up on the first tab (ie General)?.

If so, I'd just add that it's important to choose the option to clean up system files.

Then, personally, I choose to untick Downloads and Recycle Bin (it's madness to empty either without looking inside) and Thumbnails (typically, getting rid of Thumbnails doesn't save significant space and slows down access the next time you open any folder containing images, as the Thumbnails have to be recreated).

About the cleanup, like you, mentioned it was the standard one. And this solution is really working out for me. My system speed is up and running smoothe. Also, I had the problem with loading of Microsoft office like some people had the same problem that also went away.

Let me know if this works out for anyone else.

Using an SSD instead of a hard disk will always improve performance but, truth is, you shouldn't need to do that with a new computer.

Did you do any speed tests - before and after upgrading to an SSD?

And was the machine largely unusable before the SSD upgrade?
