Re: New Ideapad 320 really slow?

2018-05-09, 5:38 AM

I found something that worked really great for me.  On windows 10, iType and iPoint windows process seemed to fix the problem.  I deleted both and boom! computer blistering fast now.  Maybe there is a clash between iType/iPoint and the track pad hardware or keyboard?  Don't know, just know it worked for me.  Hope it helps someone.

Same as me  . Just bought for 2 days already lag like hell. Even spend me hours just to types this  comment  .

Why on this earth Lenovo still sell this problematic  laptop.

I spend thousands not to face this problem . 2 night wasted  because of LENOVO.

Can I get my refund back?

I'm currently experimenting with the lenovo USB recovery key, but no joy so far. if I take it back, (too late for refund) I'll either get told that nothing is wrong, since the vantage didn't detect anything, or I'll get told that I no longer have a warranty because of windows, or for the fact that the thing doesn't have a well built quality, and we know how these things go. it's rather funny seeing my AMD 9700P struggling, where as my i3 3110 flies by.

If you can't get a refund, please do read though the advice here.

The most recent advisory before your posting looks interesting but, in truth, my starting point would probably be to download the Windows 10 installer and do a completely fresh install, as a number of people have suggested here.

hthat was the first thing I tried. it takes almost 40 seconds to install a 20 MB screen reader. CPU reaches 100% while copying large amounts of data. and here are my user bench mark results. http://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/8672981

I'm just worried if I go back, they'll tell me I shouldn't have reinstalled windows from a USB. mine is using dynamic disks rather than basic, no clues if that makes a difference.

Did you do a CLEAN install - in otherwords tell Windows to delete everything on all partitions and install anew?

If not, please do that - ensuring first to backup any critical data.

Got this for Christmas from my husband because I need a laptop for school.. Old one crapped out.
Anyway, it started acting up. Fan was getting super hot! Turns out they had to replace the motherboard, it was defective. I just got it back, and it is still so slow I almost cried before because trying to get tasks done fast is like pulling teeth! I don't know much about computers and I don't know what to do!

I did that just 2 days back using the Lenovo recovery USB. now my D drive shows as 25 GB, not 4 GB. with that said, there's another thing that occurred to me. when I first bought the thing, I was running a BIOS version, THAT WAS DATED BACK TO May 2017. Then, I updated it, and it's now something along the lines of QCWW, and is now September 2017. After I did that, I did notice the thing going down hill, for instance, things like the touch pad wouldn't stay off permenantly, etc. For those who managed to fix the lag, it would be interesting to know your BIOS, in case it is something to do with it.  Going to see if I can find an older version, of the BIOS, and see if that actually helps.
