New laptop so Slow and low fps (ideapad 500)

my laptop specs:

CORE i7-6500U 2.5-3.1GHz
-4GB
-1TB
-R7 M360 2GB
-14 FHD
-WIN 10
-DVD-RW

windows 10

 

i just buy this new laptop and its feel like its so slow for me, i use it to playing DOTA 2 and get 20-40 fps. pls help me why i7 skylake not fast as i expected. already uninstall default mcafee. any idea?

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

 

You can also try turning off the adaptive power settings in the Amd control panel. Also you may want to look at your cpu usage while playing a game and see if the cpu usage spikes with framerate drops. And see if your games are using all of your video memory.

When the machine heats up, it's likely that the clock rate of the CPU/GPU throttles down to stabilize the system which may explain the FPS drop during games.
