My 720S-14IKB 81BD Laptop has 16GB of RAM. I'd like to upgrade to 32GB of RAM. Please tell me specifically what type of RAM to buy and provide a link. I can provide my serial number if that is helpful. Thanks in advance.

According to Lenovo's Psref for that model, the 720s has only one SODIMM socket, and the maximum supported RAM is 16GB. That said, BIOS updates can sometimes increase that value (I cannot confirm that on th 720S) but the only 1x32GB SODIMM I have heard of ins one from Samsung that is based on their new 10 nanometer technology, and they are very hard to find, and extremely expensive.

I ran CPU-Z to double check, but I am not sure if I am understanding it correctly. Please see the attached screenshots. It appears that I have two ram slots and that I could install two 16gb sticks of ram. Is that right, or am I misreading the CPU-Z gui? TIA

I have seen CPU-Z report non-existant SODIMM slots on laptops before due the system board beign capable of being used in other models etc, but I doubt there are actually two given that both the Psref and Hardware Maintenance Manual (page 40) show only one slot.

Yeah you are correct. Just to be sure I called Lenovo tech support and they said that my model has the RAM integrated into the motherboard, and that if I wanted to upgrade the RAM I would need to upgrade the motherboard.
This is pretty disappointing, because the salesman at the retailer told me that it would be no problem to upgrade the RAM to 32GB when I bought it. Now I am outside of the return window too. Need to check specs more carefully before purchasing. Lesson learned.
