I want to replace the slot for a dvd lector with a caddy (adapter for an ssd) , but im not sure which caddy should i buy. I've read that there are mostly 2 caddy's available, 9.7mm or 12mm and im not certain which one is compatible with my laptop. I would really appreciate a manual or the description of a caddy that will fit in the slot. Thanks in advance! Ezequiel
PS: A recommendation whether should I put the old HDD (1 TB) in the caddy and the SSD(240GB) where the hdd was would be as well appreciated

I did that on a 320-15ABR so is a different machine but the general Idea will aply. But it went ok. From what I read the spec was a 9mm DVD Drive. I bought a 9.5 mm caddy and could not get it to slide in so I had to take the back off the laptop to put the caddy in but it did fit ok with the back off except one tab from the dvd bezel was to big and I removed it to get the dvd bezel to fit on the caddy. the ssd works ok in the caddy. I used Acronis to clone the HD to SSD and went to Bios and changed the boot drive to the SSD drive and now it boots from there OK. hope that helps, you experience on a diifferent machine maybe Different

Hey thanks four your replay! Did you computer come originally with a dummy optical drive(some plastic to cover the hole) or did it have the actual optical drive? I opened my computer to check if it had the ODD board. And it actually had a plug for an optical drive, but I dont know if its a real odd board, I think its integrated on the motherboard. Not sure if it will work though.

mine had the Optical drive, I would think they would use a standard Motherboard with or with out the ODD so the connector should be live. On amazon the caddy was only like $8 so not to expensive if you want to try

Just to make sure, this is the odd plug I told you about. I think it will work but its different from the common ones, thats the doubt i had. Ill try with the caddy you told me, the 9,5mm one.
