two weeks after getting my new 80MJ it started to be very slow, task manager says hard drive space is used nearly 100% at some points. Firefox (watching prime) just crashed after a few minutes.
Now I let the solution center run a quick test and the following points failed:
- specific reading test
- short SMART-selftest
- selftest for SMART-drive
All other tests were positive.
Does this mean the hard drive is broken? Do I have to send it in and get it repaired? Any chance of fixing it by something else?
Thanks for your help

Hi there, Mutzik-
Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.
This kind of S.M.A.R.T (Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology; often written as SMART) test errors occurs only when there is issue with system HDD (Hard Disk Drive) or SSD.
The Storage Device result code may indicate an imminent failure on the HDD or may just be a false positive error. To verify, can you try to run a hardware scan using the Lenovo Solutions Center or run the storage test from the Individual Diagnostic Tools and post the results here.
Smart test - issue is related to HDD drive and you have to get it replaced with our authorized service center.
Update us how it goes.
