I am thinking of getting an Ideapad 320, specifically the model with the AMD A9-9420 APU since it's overall better than the Pentium N4200 model in both CPU and GPU. However, I have a couple of questions before I buy.
Since I'm a tinkerer, I will want to modify this laptop to my specifications. I'd like to upgrade the memory and replace the hard drive with a smaller, but faster, SSD.
Does this model support memory upgrades? Can anybody point me to a specific SODIMM that would work? I am assuming it's DDR4 2133 but I know from experience that laptops can be fickle about what memory works and what doesn't on their motherboards.
Secondly, I'm assuming I can replace the 1TB hard drive with a SSD, something along the lines of this. This laptop does use the standard 2.5 inch SATA format, right? I want to do this because I want to run Linux.

Welcome to the Community Forums.
Machine number 80XV00HSUS is a 320-15AST Laptop (IdeaPad).
As per hardware manual page 29:
Maximum supported capacity: 8 GB
Storage: SSD + HDD (on select models), Form factor is 2.5-inch, 7 mm, SATA 2/SATA 3 interface
Replacing the current HDD is very much possible as it was offered on other builds of this model aside from those offered by other resellers. Several members have also performed Ubuntu install on their model similar to this case.
Hope this help answer your query.
