What are Flex 3-1130 SSD upgrade options?

Windows 10 installed, puny 28GB SSD is critically low on free space.

Removed the back cover, no drive visible.  I guess it is integrated into the MB?

There is a jack "SATA_CONN1" on the MB, looks to be about an 8 pin ribbon type.

Can an additional drive be installed?  Does it take a special Lenovo adapter kit?

Re: What are Flex 3-1130 SSD upgrade options?

Hi ArtieJ44,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Here is a discussion about fitting a SATA HDD/SSD 2.5 drive for the Flex 3 1130. I was hoping to get any confirmed case just yet here in the community.

I have read some claims of success by getting another HDD cable (PN 5C10K62067  HDD Cable B 80LY) and cage/bracket (PN 5B40K62069 HDD Bracket B 80LY) connected to the SATA Conn1 slot.

Maybe if there are spares parts to try first before any purchase but it would definitely be worth a try.

Regards

Re: What are Flex 3-1130 SSD upgrade options?

Thanks for the info.  I was tasked by my employer to see if this Flex 3 could be repurposed for some specific work, but when we found out it only has 2GB RAM, it probably isn't going to be up to the task so the project was cancelled.

Re: What are Flex 3-1130 SSD upgrade options?

Hi ArtieJ44,

Greetings.

Win10 and 2GB ram is not a good combination. Those ram on this model is soldered so it is not upgradable. I definitely suggest to scout for other model that fits the requirements of those applications you intend to you over the pricing.
