Wi-Fi problem with my ideapad 700

Hello,

(I apologize in advance for my mistakes as English is not my native language)

As described in the title, I have issues with the Wi-Fi on my Lenovo ideapad 700. My laptop doesn't detect Wi-Fi networks anymore, although it did before. When I try to resolve the issues, it says I have to connect an Ethernet cable to my laptop. The thing is the Wi-Fi network I'm using is for my residence area and I'm not the only one using it. I really don't know what to do, help me please.

Re: Wi-Fi problem with my ideapad 700

I'd really like to but I'm not able to connect to any wi-fi network so I don't have any access to this website on my laptop and I can't download/click on the links... (I'm replying with my smartphone)

Re: Wi-Fi problem with my ideapad 700

I understand the situation Laura but there could a software conflict. Hence without updating proper wi-fi drivers, chances are less of issue getting resolved.

Also, I would suggest you go to - In the device manager, right button and click on wifi devicePropierties -> advanced options -> WMM -> Disabled

Update us how it goes.

Re: Wi-Fi problem with my ideapad 700

Dear Shashi_Lenovo,

I have exactly the same problem than the one reported above.

I did install the drivers you pointed out and it does not solve the problem.

I went to devicePropierties -> advanced options through the device manager and there is nothing related to "WMM" or "Mode ad hoc QS" (my computer is in French).

Would you have further ideas on how to solve the issue?

Thank you for your patience,

Matthias

Re: Wi-Fi problem with my ideapad 700

Hi there,

I have a brand new Ideapad 700 on Windows 10 which has experienced 2 serious issues since purchase:

1.  WiFi connection problems:

This has happened every day for the last 4 days since we bought it. It often happens following start-up, but also ocassionally during the course of the day, for no reason.

The symbol that indicates I am not connected is a red circle with a white "X" in place of the WiFi signal indicator at the bottom right hand side of my screen.

I usually re-start, and that removes the problem, and when it re-starts, it is connected. However today I "diagnosed"  the problem and it said there may be a problem with the driver for the WiFi adapter and suggested I re-set this.

When prompted, I did a "Network reset" and once complete, the laptop re-started. I then had the option to at least find

a WiFi network and when I tried to connect, using the correct password etc, it showed:

No Internet access - your device is connected, but you might not be able to access anything on the network.

I then clicked on "Troubleshoot" and it said it was "Resolving problems" - Reset the "Wi-Fi" adapter.....

When Troubleshooting was complete, it showed:

Troubleshooting was unable to automatically fix all of the issues found. You can find more details below:

Problems found: The default gateway is not available - Not fixed.

However, then I was connected to the network!

2.  Blue-screen re-start required

During the first day of using the laptop, in the middle of using it, I got a blue screen with a large white Smiley Sad and a message saying "Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart. We're just collecting some error info, and then we'll restart for you"

As this is a brand new laptop, we are seriously considering taking it back to the shop and starting over with a different brand of laptop.

Can you please help?

Re: Wi-Fi problem with my ideapad 700

I had the same problem. And honestly I was very irritated with it. New settings helped me, all the instructions you can find at 192.168.l.l admin . I also used that service. It's really helpful. Hope you'll fix that. Take care
