Hi there,
I have a brand new Ideapad 700 on Windows 10 which has experienced 2 serious issues since purchase:
1. WiFi connection problems:
This has happened every day for the last 4 days since we bought it. It often happens following start-up, but also ocassionally during the course of the day, for no reason.
The symbol that indicates I am not connected is a red circle with a white "X" in place of the WiFi signal indicator at the bottom right hand side of my screen.
I usually re-start, and that removes the problem, and when it re-starts, it is connected. However today I "diagnosed" the problem and it said there may be a problem with the driver for the WiFi adapter and suggested I re-set this.
When prompted, I did a "Network reset" and once complete, the laptop re-started. I then had the option to at least find
a WiFi network and when I tried to connect, using the correct password etc, it showed:
No Internet access - your device is connected, but you might not be able to access anything on the network.
I then clicked on "Troubleshoot" and it said it was "Resolving problems" - Reset the "Wi-Fi" adapter.....
When Troubleshooting was complete, it showed:
Troubleshooting was unable to automatically fix all of the issues found. You can find more details below:
Problems found: The default gateway is not available - Not fixed.
However, then I was connected to the network!
2. Blue-screen re-start required
During the first day of using the laptop, in the middle of using it, I got a blue screen with a large white :( and a message saying "Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart. We're just collecting some error info, and then we'll restart for you"
As this is a brand new laptop, we are seriously considering taking it back to the shop and starting over with a different brand of laptop.
Can you please help?
