ideapad 310-15abr is it possible to add 2nd hdd or dvd drive?

Hello I've got IdePad 310-15ABR from this link:

http://pcsupport.lenovo.com/ie/pl/products/laptops-and-netbooks/300-series/310-15abr/80st/80st002kuk...

My question is: Is it possible to use empty space of disc drive to add second drive or dvd/bluray drive or not??

I'm talking about space that's normally occupied by dvd drive but I've got model without it so wondering about this thing.

It's on the right side of the laptop.

Regards, Horacy.

Re: ideapad 310-15abr is it possible to add 2nd hdd or dvd drive?

You would have to search to see if their is a adaptor available. I know I have bought a optical slot adaptor for a drive. But that was for a ThinkPad which I think has more options then the consumer line IdealPads. Probably your best bet is a big flash drive, or a external drive. But search third parties because you could possible buy the adaptor and crudely install a drive in the optical. So many optical drives are thin drives these days, so space may be a issues.

Well so then I'm just gonna take external enclosure and use my wd blue as external drive cause this option is less problematic.
PS. I found some site but not sure if it is ok because I have nothing in there and they are showing how to put it in if you take out disc drive Smiley Sad :

Yea, something like that would work. Similar to what I bought for my ThinkPad a while back. I'm thinking speed would be a bit faster then USB 3 drive if that's important. External drive would be easier of course, but take up a port so that could be a negative.
