ideapad 310-15ikb ram slot dead

I have a Lenovo IdeaPad 310-15 ikb 80TV00WQMH,

it had 8gb of ram when i got it in july 2017, but now it suddenly only had 4gb of ram

So i bought another 4gb stick assuming the other one was dead , but it was still saying i only had 4gb of ram, then i bought an 8gb stick to see if that would work but still only showing 4gb of ram.

I have opened my laptop, removed the cmos battery and the normal battery and held the power button down for 30 seconds but this dit not help, i dont know if this voided the waranty but i am all out of options and have no idea what to do.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

Re: ideapad 310-15ikb ram slot dead

Hi QuintenEmmen,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Generally, upgrades should not void the warranty as long as nothing gets broken during and after the process. This may be regional so it would be best to call in technical support to inform them of the issue specially if both new 4GB and 8GB works on another system.

It is probable that the issue is with the slot since those that are currently being detected is just the soldered 4GB on-board ram on the motherboard. Be sure to put back the original 4GB before calling in tech support.

I hope this helps answer your query.

Regards
