ideapad 320 15IAP 80XR keyborad not working

I have read few posts from this forum about this model keyboard problem. None of these solutions were able to fix the problem. I cant boot bios, bootable usb or anything... Only fn keys are working when system is booted(win10). I have bought this laptop for my wife few weeks ago, and now it is not working.... I dont want to open a brand new laptop just to remove main and bios battery... What I want is a solution that I can use without sending this machine to seller or any other place to repair it.

Re: ideapad 320 15IAP 80XR keyborad not working

Hi shonextr,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

You can try if onscreen keyboard is working.

Check if there are any updates needed that you have to install.

If all is updated then proceed to disable the filter keys.

Check if there are two language input for the keyboard and remove the other if any.

It would be under Control panel > Clock Language and Region> Click on add language .

If there are two language, tap the other and remove.

It is always better to have technical support be informed since the machine is under warranty.

They would be able to remote in to check if there is a hardware issue else, to offer you other options.

Update us how things go.

Regards

Re: ideapad 320 15IAP 80XR keyborad not working

I had the same problem. It didn't work under BIOS either. For me worked the complete discharge of the battery. I turned off the hibernate feature and waited until it was discharged to 0 %. Then when I switched back on the laptop, the keyboard worked again but the battery again failed to recognize the conservation mode in Lenovo vantage application and kept charging beyond the threshold of 60 %. I'd never go for a Lenovo product again. Very disappointing.
