ideapad 330-15ich no 'win 7 os' bios option

2019-10-13, 8:03 AM

Iam trying to install windows 7 on this machine without luck.

After a long search it appears this version of notebook doesn't have "win 7 os" option in OS Optimized Defaults in bios (to make it ACPI compliant)

The only option available is OS Optimized Defaults "Enabled" or "Disabled". Neither is working.

Yet i've seen people successfully installing win7 on 3xx series, given that optimized defaults option is available.

Is there some older bios version i can downgrade to?

Thanks.

You won't find this option in BIOS, as IdeaPad 330-15ICH is officially not compatible with Windows 7. It was Microsoft's and Intel's decision, to make Skylake CPU generation as the last, which officially supports Windows 7. Some people modded Windows installer, so they were able to install it on devices with newer CPUs than Skylake.

Please keep in mind, that even if you install Windows 7 on your device, a lot of drivers will be missing (and you will probably encounter stability issues).
