Re: ideapad 520 usb3

Hi Amoza!

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Does your external hard drive work on other laptops? Have you tried the 2 USB 3.0 ports on your Ideapad 520? If still not working, try to do a power drain by removing all connected devices (ac adapter, USB flash drive, etc.), shut it down and hold down the power button for 60 seconds. Turn it back on after a few minutes and observe.

Re: ideapad 520 usb3

Hey there, Amoza!

Another help here. Please try the steps below:

1. Disconnect all USB device in your laptop such as USB mouse or USB drive.

2. Open the Lenovo Vantage app https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht505081?CID=ww:lenovosocial:20x9m6 and check for a system update, then install them all.

3. Restart the laptop and try it again. Update us back with the outcome.

Regards!
