ideapad 700 15ISK - Keyboard missing keystrokes

Hi all

I have a Lenovo 700 15ISK  that constantly missing letters when typing despite making the keystrokes. I am wasting a whole bunch of time going back to edit or add in letters that have been missed when I am typing. 

Updating the bios does not solve the issue.

 

Can anybody help?

I am having the same exact issue on my Ideapad 700. People at work think I can't type. Not sure if it is the actual keyboard or some running background service causing the glitch. When I go back and retype the character, it works. This laptop is only 2 weeks old.

Hi,

I have made some test to understand the issue.

1) raise at maximum the repetition rate

2) open notepad and hold a key, i notice that the repetiton IS JITTERING. is not fluid.

3) press speeding two keys : eg 0.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.0 and check the missing keystrokes.

4) the issue is on touchpad too. Move the finger slowly on the touchpad and check the jitter of the pointer about every 5 seconds.

This is an hardware issue. No reply from Lenovo for now Smiley Sad

Please let me know about your tests. and if you got a solution from Lenovo

PS: I have try each known software trick but the issue is not solved. nor upgrading the bios.

I have been working with Lenovo support. Looks like I need to send my laptop back for service.

Well, I returned my laptop and got another one. This one has the same issue, missig keystrokes. I think it is a hardware design issue. The keyboard sucks. Contemplating on returning this one now an getting a refund for another brand, maybe a Dell. I can't put up with this. It is a major nuisance.

I returned the first one and got a replacement. The second replacement had the same problem, so I gave up and returned it for a full refund. I will never again consider a Lenovo laptop.

Ideapad 700 Keyboard problem

I have a new 17" Ideapad 700 which seems to skip letters all the time, even when I type relatively heavily.

Does anyone have an idea what to do about it? Could it just be defective hardware?
