Hello rockadile,

 

Can you show us the log that is displayed after attempting to update the box? Should mention the system is being updated and then show the error. The reason I ask is because I found some articles and forum post where different solutions were applied:

 

this one recommends uninstalling SecureMind from the NAS and re-applying the firmware update.

The second one I found is a rather unorthodox method for a corrupted file error log in which the customer removed a drive before installing the firmware:

My recommendation is to try the first one and see if that resolves your issue because it matches the error you gave us above.

Hello Rockadile I wanted to let you know that I can confirm that we have update one of the lab machines from 4.1.406.34763 to 4.1.408.34845(downloaded from Lenovo site) without any issue.

 

Please let me know if that helps or if you are still getting the same error. 

 

If you are still getting the same error could you please let me know a little more information such as what is the error and perhaps maybe a snipet from the logs. I may have to request that you upload the entire service data from the machine though.

Not sure why my prior reply didn't post.  This is what I see in the event log:

 

1. Updating software to version 4.1.408.34845.

2. The software could not be updated because the update file is corrupted.

 

As far as uninstalling SecureMind, I don't have it.  In fact, I have no add ons installed.  I've been able to update this unit over the years without problems.  The latest update is the first time I've experienced any issues.

My current version is 4.1.406.34763.  When you test in your lab, what OS and browser was used?  Just curious.

hi,

i have the same problem. tried solution 2 removing hdd 4, still wont update. same error. says the upload file is corrupted. turned off notifications at the moment but would like to update the firmware sometime,

well, very  starnge, after the nas rebuilt the raid i decided to try the update...and it worked. very odd. anyway all good now
