Re: Home Media Network HD died after firmware upgrade

Wesley_Lenovo,

It is very bad practice hiding behind legal speak to cover up your fault for runing all these drives with bad firmware that you (Lenovo) recommended to install. You have to fix this. I don't think many will buy another Lenovo NAS or Laptop or anything if this is the way you treat customers after ruining thier hardware. I cannot help feeling that this was deliberate.

Hello Aaarrgh,

Have you managed to downgrade back to the previous version successfully? If so, I would like to know how you managed it.

Thanks,

Carlo

Hello,

Thanks to everybody,

I had the same problem and I think it is incredible that lenovo  does not consider his responsability in this issue, only considering the "out of warranty" of the device...

However the solution of shut down, unplug, put on the HD and plug it to the network works for me.

Thanks for your help, and shame on lenovo !

I tried to install 3.2.10.30101 last night, unaware of this mess. Since then I spent hours trying to connect my drive. Needless to say, I will not buy anything from Lenovo again.

I'm with you cyberzrk,
Had notification that this upgrade was strongly recommended and it's trashed my drive.
Drive will not now start, cannot access it from the software and Lenovo can't fix it.
Screw them
