Hi kaserg,

It sounds like we're talking about the ix2-200 non cloud?

If that is the case, here is a link to an approved drives list for a similar device:
https://lenovo-na-en.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/30797

The problem here is that the above list is for a device that (while similar) is much newer, so there will be some restrictions on what you will be able to use from that list:

Restrictions:
1) 1/2 TB Drives only.
2) No Drive that specifies: "Requires network storage device running LifeLine version 4.0.2 or above."
3) No SSD Drives
4) No Drive over 7200rpm

That is easy to answer: because that box was never designed to run with SSDs  ;-)

SSDs are NOT a 1:1 replacement for HDDs, there is a lot of special software, firmware and drivers around ( which wasn_t  even the case with OS below W7 !)

The ixOS never had the possibilities to control SDDs (although SATA/Power connecors certainly match).

This probably would also happen if you just put the SSD into an enclosure, if the enclosure interface is not designed to work with SDDs. It also does not make any sense (speedwise) as the Ix2s USB2.0-port will never get to the point that you realize SSD-speed..... (SSDs with SATA may run up tp 600 MB/s, whereas USB2.0 fills 25 Mbit/s if you are happy...)

Why not just take the pieces that fit?

Hi I am in the same situation as the original post. Does anyone have a working link to the article?

Is there any guidance for mixed disk configuration?

I refused to use mixed models of hard drives. since the second disk usually has the same resource, you don’t need to leave it. I do the following: I acquire 2 identical disks, recently it is a WD black 2 TB, I put one in place of the failed, I wait for to rebuild the array, and then change the second disk.

Hi, did you get a list of comparable drives. ? One of my 1tb cloud edition has failed so was wanting to replace with 2 new 2tb ones.
Been through the forums but none of the links seem to work.
