I own a Lenovo IX2 200, few days ago one of my hard drive had a failure (ST31000520AS). I only found refurbished disk of that model, so I thought I would buy a newer Seagate (ST1000VN002). They both have 1000 gb, 5900 rpm, and they are the same brand. On my NAS I have a RAID 1. Can I replace old drive with this new one? Sorry for my poor english.

I recommend using the same manufacturer, same rotational speed and same capacity in a single storage pool.
Please refer to the HDDs approved list from the link and read the important note at the bottom of the page.

I checked your list, it reports that ST2000VN000 is compatible, this is the 2tb model of the one i'm going to buy (ST1000VN002). As I wrote before they have the same manufactuer, same rotational speed and same capacity.
Once I got the hard drive, how do I rebuild RAID 1 array? Have I to remove the damaged disk while the nas is working? And replace with the new one?
Thank you for your answer.
