Downloaded the recommended firmware update for my IX4-300D today. Applied the update, now my NAS won't come up but is stuck in a boot loop. It will boot to 95%, then reboot. I have tried the following:
During the boot process the device will briefly come up on the network (the web interface shows "restarting device") but it never completes the boot process. I can get the device to look for a usb key to boot from, but I don't know what to prepare on said usb key. FWIW I'd prefer to preserve the data on the disks, although I have a backup. Can anyone help out? I probably need an "imager" (seeing this on google a lot), but how do I obtain that?

I re-imaged the device with a software image I received from Lenovo. Mind you, this procedure is data destructive (I had a backup). After that, I was able to update to the latest firmware without problems.

I got the same issue after firmware update (IX4-300D). I tried all I could with no success. Whatever I do with a USB boot, I invariably get the message : "no zimage..."
I just don't know what to do now, anyone who could help ? Thanks !

Had the same problem ages ago but never got the usb firmware link emailed and dealing with lenovo support was so futile I ended up having to buy a different nas. couldn't believe I got hung out to dry when it was clearly the gui firmware update that caused the problem. eventually i got round to hooking up a console window to monitor the boot process and it basically said the firmware filesystem was corrupt. can anyone post a link to any version usb firmware file so I can get the unit working and take it to cash convertors?
my misery so far:
3x lenovo 9" tablet -- all dead > crappy usb charge port
lenovo q180 nettop -- dead > video output fried
lenovo q190 nettop -- dead > video output fried
very expensive lenovo yoga 11s laptop -- dead > video output fried
ix4-300d --- maybe there is some hope, AWAITING SUPPORT!

I was able to recover the boot from the storage. * In my case I, the data was lost. (there was no need to keep them.)

Thanks Rafael. Your files were perfect. I didn't realise the result would be the IX4-300D working again without losing the data on the RAID. Everyone has told me the USB boot recovery would be data-destructive.
I also posted the process here on the forum.
