I have found a solution to this issue with my bulb, I think it should work for plugs too.
Download the Lenovo Link Pro app and set up the each bulb as a new set up in manual mode (slow blinking set up... I can never get these devices to set up in auto mode AKA fast blinking). Once you have all your plugs set up in Lenovo Link Pro, switch to Google Home and set up new device, select 'have something alread set up' but instead of trying to link with Lenovo Smart Home (which is the old app) search and link with 'Lenovo Link Pro'.
This worked for me, hopefully it will work for you too.

The Lenovo app is piggybacking Tuya Smart. This app is identical to Lenovo's app. Reset the device snd connect with Tuya, then open Google Home and link to Tuya app. The device should appear in Google Home

Sorry I can't seem to get it working with the plugs.
I can get the bulbs working in the old app but the plugs just seem to not want to join my Google Home App for whatever reason, they're being stubborn!

Thanks Cookie! Got my plugs and lights going with Tuya Smart.
Also noticed that you can connect Tuya to IFTTT (connect to the Smart Life service), so it solves that problem as well. Looks like I wont need to use Lenovo's app for these devices any more.

I have the same problem on all my Lenovo products.
Return them for refund to JB HiFi and vow to NEVER buy Lenovo products ever again!!
Customer support is non-existent. What a joke!
