PX2-300d error message following software update

2016-10-06, 16:30 PM

Hi All,

Following the software update version 4.1.212.3382 I noticed I was receiving the following via email when ever I closed down the NAS and restarted it :-

"Your LenovoEMC px2-300d was shut down improperly, which can cause your most recent changes to be lost.

Device Information: 192.168.0.10, 4.1.212.3382, LenovoEMC px2-300d, I00D0B8240ECB".

I have checked everything and the PX2-300d appears to be functioning ok.

Earlier today I updated the software to version 4.1.214.33935 with the hope that it would solve the problem, I carried out a few shutdowns, first using the software and then by pressing the button on the front of the unit. All appeared ok.

After turning the unit off and going out for a few hours, I returned and restarted it only to instantly receive an email :-

"Your LenovoEMC px2-300d was shut down improperly, which can cause your most recent changes to be lost.

Device Information: 192.168.0.10, 4.1.214.33935, LenovoEMC px2-300d, I00D0B8240ECB"

I checked the units log and this is what is recorded :-

Your LenovoEMC px2-300d was shut down improperly, which can cause your most recent changes to be lost.

Any ideas as to what is going on, is there a problem with the firmware as this only started after updating to version 4.1.212.33882.

Peter

Hello Ped666,

There are no know issues with the firmware update.

You could try disabling all unused network protocols, media server and any other unused applications then monitor the device to see if the problem continues. If not, then start turning things back on one at a time to see which one is the culprit.

Hi Gary,
That fixed it, I just disabled everything, I don't use most of the extra stuff. I have since enabled media server and everything is working fine so I will leave it at that.

Thanks

Peter
