Y410p touchpad stopped working

Question

My Y410p is about six months old. Today, while using the computer, the touchpad stopped working suddenly.

Touchpad is enabled in mouse settings, and device manager says drivers are up to date and that the device is working. However, the touchpad is completely unresponsive, and restarting the computer didn't do anything. Is there anything else that could be done?

Answer

Try Opening Device Manager (Press WIndows Key + X) Then Select Device Manager.

Then, open the Category (Human Interface Device)

Right Click and Uninstall all under it that starts with HID-

Restart the computer

Make sure to try performing a power drain. To do so, switch on your laptop and unplug it from the outlet or power source. Increase the brightness of your laptop to the maximum, then switch on your screensaver. You can also launch several programs to run at the same time. and utilise all your USB ports, plus run a DVD or movie or video on your laptop.

Also, check that your drivers are updated:
