7 Series (HM76) C216 Chipset Driver Win 8.1 Pro 64 bit advice? Z580

2016-10-24, 18:49 PM

Hi all,

I currently have downloaded driver version's 9.3.0.1021 from Lenovo and also this version from Intel. I know this sounds daft but which should I be using? Thanks.

Thanks for any help in advance, Pete :)

I would stick with the one you downloaded from the Lenovo file library.  It maybe older, but it has been tested and approved by Lenovo for your model.  Likewise, the Lenovo chipset driver may have been tweaked for better support of your installed hardware.  As Intel stated on their website......

"The driver or software for your Intel® component might have been changed or replaced by the computer manufacturer. We recommend you work with your computer manufacturer before installing our driver so you don’t lose features or customizations."

Thanks for the advice. I installed the latest one and all seems to work without issues. I'll roll it back though as per your advice.
Thanks for any help in advance, Pete :)
