Well, it's better for you to call to that island's techsupport if you can't call russian one.

Also Lenovo has limited 64-bit support.

Also, didn't you think that Lenovo has different districts for support in different countries and even different support emails for different support departments in each country? In Russia Thinkpad support and Ideapad support differ much.

All this you can know simply calling - it's simple. Just as I did.

Ending offtopic, how you can comment this driver? Is it working?

Lenovo does not have a support even in a big country as Ukraine, not to say about an island.

Lenovo publishes the support e-mail address on its Russian contact page.

Lenovo recieves calls in Russia when most of people work and cannot call on personal issues.

I replaced Vista 64 as others with Vista 32 after not finding the driver.

I recieved Russian email from testoutofh@lenovo.com

On Russian support page it's ask@ru.lenovo.com

It's obvious that your email came wrong address.

So, when do you suggest must support work then? At night? On holidays? Or maybe at holiday nights? What else must support do? Any more wishes? Do not hesitate - use all means to struggle against support and do not use any means to help them! They deserve it!

As a support engeneer in IT sphere I must say that people like you can darken a sunny day.

Well, i did it both ways.

first, as a regular user, i tryed the installer...

did not work (with a assert thing)...

then removed, rebooted, double check no garbage in my device manager...

now 7zip unpacked the beast...

did a install again, same thing... so there goes the clenaup, reboot, check again...

this time tryed to insall the driver fro mthe device manager windows...

as expected, windows found NO driver to install for mu VPC2004 thing...

:(

this thing sucks...

i knew i should not have bought this notebook....

but i liked so much the WUXGA screen! :)

I sent email to ask@ru.lenovo.com published on the Russian support page.

Lenovo support should reply to emails, sent to the address published on the Russian support page at least, as all other producer's supports do.

Lenovo support does not need to work all day from early morning, but it should work till 20:00 at least, so that working people be able to call the support after their work, as most of other supports do.

Seriously though, if someone knows of any 64-bit EnergyCut drivers that exist or are coming out soon, could they please please please post them here? Some of us are dying to get our hands on them...

Customers have been asking Lenovo for the driver only in this thread from 07-11-2008, and in other places even longer. It looks like Lenovo is not going to make a driver for a 64bit OS.:smileysad:

If only I knew this previously, I would HAVE NEVER bought this machine.

I'm so fustrated by their support...

Unfortunately, I'm stuck with this machine now, that is no use to me unless connected to a power outlet...
