possible to start a petition or request for this driver?

Lenovo employees (Mark_Lenovo) if you're reading this please create a 64-bit vista ACPI driver! a lot of us really do want this; it is the only thing missing from an otherwise great product.

well it looks like this is the case for x64 bit on the y430 with the intel gma x4500mhd.

I am assuiming this.... i hope iam wrong...

If there is no 64 bit support for there craptops like the y430... no point on keeping it and going to let my company know to stay clear from len. This was my first experience with this company and perhaps the last.  The good thing is my laptop i bought the other day so iam just going to take it back... waiting on a reply.

I see these posts as old and yet still no acpi driver. wow

Yes, the posts are getting old, but the problem is REAL CURRENT!

Sometimes, i have this feeling that I bought a computer from a company far away, probably in the other side of the world, and that they can't here me...

i had this dream, that maybe one day, before i replace this note, it would just work right....

I can confirm that for my Ideapad Y710 (with the gamming pad on the right) the solution

http://forums.lenovo.com/lnv/board/message?board.id=ideaPad&thread.id=5072

works!

real good!

even the NOVO buttom to change profiles....

I'll now monitor the battery life and see how it goes.

For now, a looks like a fully charged battery, with the max savings profile will live 2h, way longer than my previous expirience...

thank you again,

.Sergio

This is not a virtual pc. It stands for Virtual Power Controller.

This is part of the Lenovo Energy Management found on the lenovo site.

http://www.etcwiki.org/wiki/Acpi_vpc2004

This is the solution I found. It worked for me, and the driver for the ACPI/VPC2004 is installed correctly on Vista and 7
