Cannot boot my Lenovo Ideapad z500

2014-02-04, 21:20 PM

I recently had a problem with my Lenovo Ideapad Z500. I've only had it for around a month, and it's been working fine. But today I turned it on and It restarted my laptop as Windows experienced an error, now everytime i try to boot my laptop up, it takes a while to boot and in the end doesn't boot, and goes to scanning and repairing (C:): and get's stuck on 2 % after like two hours.

This is ridiculous, I paid over £500 for my laptop, and it's doing this already? Can't believe it! Why do I do?

Power down your laptop then press the NOVO button. Select System Recovery to return the system to factory default. After restoration remove McAfee and enable Windows Defender thereafter.

The NOVO button is right beside the power plug. Refer to the user guide for further location info.

I get to the recovery section, click on it and it says loading files, then shows the Lenovo logo and goes onto a blank black screen

Another way is to use the usb recovery flash drive. Since you can't access or use your unit try using another computer running the same version of windows (64bit also) to do the recovery drive. Boot with the usb drive and perform a reset but do not repartition and clean the drive for a possible repair of okr later on.

I've now used a flash drive with a recovery on it, when it takes me to the recovery section and it doesn't do a thing, i insert my windows 8 installation disk for my computer into the Z500 and it just turns off. I am seriously frustrated.

Sorry you're having difficulties.

As it sure sounds like you've tried the software recovery options, it might be time to give Service a call.

Regards.
