Re: Y560... Should I buy?

I just received my new Y560 - have had it a day so far.   So far, the only complaint is battery life.  Just about two hours under what I consider a normal load, using wireless.   Have not encountered any other problems - yet.  After reading this forum, I am going to watch my 21-day return period carefully :) .   But so far so good disregarding the annoyance of the battery life.

My experience with the lenovo ( Has it happens ) 1.Intro

2010-09-02, 13:12 PM

I booked lenovo ideapad y560 (59-040352) yesterday, will be getting it in another 3 days (Thats quite fast considering i had to wait 15 days for my dell to arrive)

My system config is

i5-450M

4 GB RAM

500 GB HDD

1 GB ATI Radeon 5730 GPU

Got this for Rs.53K ($ 1100)

I got a backpack , mouse and headset free with it.

I would  mainly use it for gaming and runnig my cad/cam softwares.

<<<<<<<<<<------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------->>>>>>>>>>

I had done a lot of research before buying this laptop and found out that it had display problems and overheating issues but the config i was getting was good value for money and the build quality was good and it kinda looked cool too.

So i decided to check it out,one of my frnd has y460 it looks the same but has i3-350M and ati 5650 and a 14 inch display,

The laptop did get quite hot while gaming on it but after  like 2 hrs of playing around,it was hot ( i guess thats normal) but it never really blacked out and shut down (i suggest one buy laptop cooler with it).

And regarding the display problems,my frnds didnt have any niether did the y560 at the shop ( i dont know if its just me who cant see the problem)

So in the end went ahead and booked the laptop.

@ chu-z

do not forget that only users having issues are here.

there are lots of customers out there who are happy with their y560.

@Chu-Z, yes there is a DVD writer. It doesn't have BD.

@yigit, yes... there are many people who are happy with their Y560. But I'm not. And if you ask to the people mentioned on this 44 pages topic:
http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/IdeaPad-Y-U-B-V-and-Z-series/Widespread-Y560-Display-Problem/td-p/238949/highlight/true
I'm sure they think like me: they are not happy.

So Chu-Z, you could be lucky and be like the others or be like the people on the 44 pages topic.
