For Low Audio Output Speakers on Lenovo Y410

2008-06-05, 6:01 AM
Good day to All,

I've just updated my audio driver from realtek (ver.1.94). The sound system from my previous driver is now louder. (need confirmation from other updaters).

Here are some small steps on how i updated the driver.
1. unzip the folder Vista R194
2. Run the setup.exe from the unzip folder. it will prompt you for a restart after installation.
3. After restart you'll notice that in no sound coming from the speakers or the audio jack. Now go to Control Panel>System> Device manager and go to sound, video, game controller tab and double click tthe Realtek High Definition Audio.
4. Go to the driver tab and click the update driver button. Two options will pop up from Vista OS. (Search Automatically and Browse my Computer) Choose browse my computer and point it to the folder where the extracted Latest Realtek Audio Driver (Vista R194)

Note:
(A) After extracting the zip file there are two Vista folders (One for 32bit and 64bit) just choose your OS version of Vista.

5. Windows will update it and after finishing try playing your player and put the volume on MAX. You'll notice that the 50% of previous volume was increased.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Kenneth

There is an easier approach:

1. uninstall the existing driver.
2. download and install R1.94 (executable file, not zip file) from www.realtek.com.tw.

Once installed, there is sound from the speakers.

If the existing driver is not uninstalled first, the computer will be silent when R1.94 is installed.

just try disabling all sound effects (control panel > sound > playback > (select Speakers - Realtek...) > properties > enhancement tab > and check the disable all sound effects) and the speaker will be 50% louder..
