IdeaPad Y500 Startup Issues

I just returned a Y400 for having similar issues but I returned it b/c it had several HDD failures. I now have a Y500 that isn't giving me too much issues but it is giving me one major issue. During startup, the screen will just be black. Not blank, but black as if it hasn't turned on. The backlight for the keyboard is on though. I end up having to restart the computer multiple times before the Lenovo logo comes on and it starts.

 

I do have my two USB ports in (keyboard / mouse), ethernet cord and HDMI cord in. Still this shouldn't be an issue for any laptop. My HP Envy m4 had all these in and never had any startup issues.

 

I updated all drivers, windows updates and attempted to clean the computer multiple times. I just got it so I doubt within a week multiple things could happen to it. Especially when I know a great amount about protecting my computer from any harm.

 

Anyways, just wondering if others are having this issue and if there is any fix. I am getting a new Y500 again from the outlet and returning the one I'm using now. I'm hoping that one works perfectly fine unlike the last two Y series I've gotten. If not, I doubt I'll buy another outlet product (despite saving $300+ on a laptop).

 

All of these were purchased from the outlet as S&D models.

I'm starting to have this same issue. Everything was fine for months and now this is happening. It's very frustrating. 

 

Unfortunately I will be going on holiday for a couple weeks soon and I don't have enough time to contact Lenovo for any warranty work.

 

EDIT: I should mention that this was model purchased new directly from Lenovo, not an outlet model.

I'm not sure why, but my Y500 did that occasionally under WIN8, but it hasn't done it yet with WIN7 Pro.

 

WIN8 is a bad joke...

Windows 8 caused my Y500 to be unreliable, with WIN7 Pro it no longer requires monthly restorations. It's not the Y500 it's the WIN8, or the bloatware...
