Ideapad Y series vs Z series

2011-04-13, 18:55 PM

I am about to buy one laptop, but I can't decide which one. Partly because I don't know the difference between the Y and Z series. Can anyone explain me how they differ and also which one you would prefer for:

  •  Surfing on the internet
  • Watching movies
  • Playing Games (wanna play on good resolution, doesn't mean, hardcore gaming^^)

I also want it on a 14" so, the only 2 Laptops that come into question are Y and Z 470.

If I'm not mistaken, both of them have the same specs?!

looking forward for some good answers d(^.^)b

I'm partial to the Z560 series with the 310M video card in it.  The reason is that it doesn't use the nVidia Optimus tech.  Optimus causes all kinds of problems with games, check the nVidia forums for more info.  The Y series seems to have all kinds of issues with graphics so the Z series seems to be a good compromise.  My opinion, FWIW.
