Ideapad Y460 DISPLAY ISSUE

2011-03-21, 21:43 PM

Hi, I have a core i3 IdeaPad Y460 with 320 HD, 4GB RAM, Intel integrated video and HD.

The problem is that the resolution of the monitor, especially when viewing images or videos is very poor. It looks unrealistic, with saturated colors and pixelated.

I tried to fix it with drivers that appear on the Lenovo site, and there was no improvement, also updated the BIOS, and energy management but did not help. Finally I restored the system and makes wine, but neither solved the problem.

Note: This model does not bring ATI.

Tech-support  (@0800...) told me that the only solution is to go to a service center, but I don t want to run 10 or 15 days without the computer.

Someone has any idea what can be done?

Regards.

I think I have a similar problem. Looks like many many Y series laptops are having display issues. What is Lenovo doing!

When i try to install those drivers it says that there is an OEM version of the drivers, and it finishes the installation.

Is there any step to follow in order to install this???

regards!

Actually when i tried that page a couple of days ago, it told me something like "you have an OEM driver installed, check with your manufacturer for any updates".

Yes, it seems to be something like that. I tried to recover the system with OneKey (from the hard drive) and it was frozen @60% more or less. So when i rebooted the computer it was all fu..... up.

I tried to perform a recovery from the dvds ive burn before,,,,,but it didnt work either.....so now im runing on another installation of windows, what worries me is that in the service center they may tell me that as this is not the original win they cannot do anything. Or worse, if i have to buy the recovery discs :S
