Ideapad Z570 Adaptor

2016-10-11, 17:43 PM

Hello Everyone!

I'm facing a problem with my Ideapad Z570 which I wanted to share with the hope of getting a solution.

My Ideapad Z570 is rated at 20V, 4.5A which makes it 90W. The original adaptor which came with the laptop was rated at 90W output but it stopped working. So I bought a lenovo adaptor rated at 20V, 3.25A (65W) unknowingly and used it since then. Recently this 65W adaptor has also stopped working. Now my question is whether the 65W adaptor was harming the battery or laptop in any way and which rating adaptor should I buy next coz online there are many 65W adaptors advertised as compatible with z570 laptops. Please help. Thanks in advance!

PS: After the change in battery, I've also had changes in motherboard from i5 to i3 and battery.

Hi Sanjee1 ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

As per the hardware manual for FRU listing for OEM accepted ac charger (page 111)

65W, Delta ADP-65KH BD 20V/3.25A adapter 36001929 N

65W, Liteon PA-1650-56LC adapter 36001651

65W, Brazil PA-1650-52LB adapter 36001714

65W, Chicony CPA-A065 20V3.25A adapter 36001943

90W, Delta ADP-90DD BD 20V4.5A adapter 36001941

90W, Liteon PA-1900-56LC 20V4.5A adapter 36001927

90W, Chicony CPA-A090 20V4.5A adapter 36001942

As this is OEM accepted charger , ordering it specific to the part number is advise as not all adapters declare same standard settings as the OEM certified. 90W would charger faster as lower current may affect performance in the long run as heat is a major factor to battery life and wear and tear.

Related reference here and here about basic principles in play.

It would still best practice that keeps our electrical devices to last longer.

Hope this help answer your query.

Regards
